Zhang Fang (张芳 / 张衡, Trương Phương; c. 160s–after 215 AD) was a prominent Daoist leader and senior figure of the Way of the Celestial Masters (Five Pecks of Rice) from Feng County, Pei State.
Belonging to the patriarchal line of Ancestral Master Zhang Ling (张陵) and kin to the warlord-theocrat Zhang Lu (张鲁), Zhang Fang was deeply dedicated to the moral and spiritual teachings of Daoism, healing the sick and organizing charity granaries (Yishe) in Hanzhong and Ba-Shu.
Following Cao Cao’s pacification of Hanzhong in 215 AD, Zhang Fang helped ensure the peaceful integration of the Daoist religious community with the imperial administration, preserving the foundational texts of religious Daoism.
