Yue Jiu — Biography & Historical Record

Yue Jiu (乐就, Nhạc Tựu) was a senior military commander under warlord Yuan Shu (袁术, Viên Thuật). Following Yuan Shu’s self-proclamation as Emperor of the Zhong dynasty in 197 AD, Yue Jiu was appointed as one of seven route generals invading Xuzhou. After Lu Bu (吕布, Lữ Bố) and Cao Cao (曹操, Tào Tháo) mounted counter-offensives, Yue Jiu, along with Qiao Rui (桥蕤) and Liang Gang (梁纲), was besieged at Qianshan (蕲县) and beheaded by Cao Cao’s vanguard led by Yu Jin.
