Biography & Historical Record
Sima Jing (司马景, 司馬景, Tư Mã Cảnh; c. 240s–c. 270s AD) was an imperial prince of the Western Jin dynasty. He was a son of Grand General and King of Jin Sima Zhao (司马昭), and a younger brother of the founding monarch Emperor Wu of Jin Sima Yan (司马炎).
In the first year of the Taishi era (265 AD), following Sima Yan’s accession to the throne and the establishment of the Jin dynasty, Sima Jing was created Prince of Qiao (谯王), enfeoffed with the ancestral lands of the former Cao Wei royalty to secure the loyalty of the central plains. Sima Jing passed away early in the Taishi reign without long-lived male offspring, and his princedom was later inherited by relatives within the Sima clan to maintain the ritual sacrifices.
