Lu Yun (陆云, Lục Vân), courtesy name Shilong, was a distinguished scholar, literary giant, and general of Eastern Wu and Western Jin. Grandson of Lu Xun and son of Lu Kang, Lu Yun and his brother Lu Ji were celebrated across China as ‘The Two Lus’. After Wu’s fall in 280 AD, Lu Yun served Western Jin as a magistrate and military advisor to Sima Ying (司马颖), before being tragically executed amid the factional slaughter of the War of the Eight Princes in 303 AD.
