Biography & Historical Record

Lai Zhong (来忠, Lai Trung) was a military officer and scholar of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. He was the son of the eccentric but deeply erudite court scholar Lai Min (来敏) and grandson of Han Situ Lai Yan (来艳).

Unlike his father whose sharp tongue frequently caused political trouble, Lai Zhong was composed, diligent, and skilled in both classical statecraft and military affairs. He served as an army advisor and general under Grand General Jiang Wei (姜维), participating in the northern campaigns against Cao Wei and earning high praise from Jiang Wei for his strategic competence.
