Lai She (来歙, Lai Hấp), courtesy name Junshu (君叔), was a legendary founding hero and Grand Marshal of the Eastern Han dynasty from Xinye, Nanyang. Celebrated as one of Emperor Guangwu’s most brilliant and fearless commanders, he was instrumental in conquering the western warlords Wei Ao and Gongsun Shu, pacifying Longyou and Shu.
Renowned for his strategic audacity, Lai She led elite troops through rugged mountain tracks to capture Lueyang, holding out against overwhelming siege armies. He was the founding ancestor of the prestigious Nanyang Lai family, which later produced Han Situ Lai Yan (来艳), Shu Han classicist Lai Min (来敏), and general Lai Zhong (来忠).
