Biography & Historical Record
The Imperial Princess of Shu (蜀汉公主, Thục Hán Công Chúa; c. 230s–after 263 AD) refers to the royal princesses of the imperial Liu clan of Shu Han, particularly the imperial daughters of Emperor Houzhu Liu Shan (刘禅). As part of Shu Han’s internal dynastic strategy to unite the imperial house with its most loyal governing families, imperial princesses were betrothed into the preeminent houses of Zhuge Liang and Fei Yi.
One prominent princess married Zhuge Liang’s son Zhuge Zhan (诸葛瞻), giving birth to heroic martyrs Zhuge Shang and future official Zhuge Jing (诸葛京). Another royal princess was wedded to Fei Yi’s second son Fei Gong (费恭). Following the fall of Chengdu to Deng Ai in 263 AD, the surviving princesses accompanied Liu Shan and the imperial clan on their journey to Luoyang under the oversight of the Jin court.
