Biography & Historical Record
Princess Yang’an (阳安公主, 陽安公主, Dương An công chúa; c. 150s–?), personal name Liu Hua (刘华), was the eldest imperial daughter of Emperor Huan of Han (Liu Zhi). In 158 AD, she was formally created Eldest Princess of Yang’an with rich territorial fiefs.
She married Fu Wan (伏完), the hereditary Marquis of Buqi and descendant of celebrated Han scholar Fu Chen. Through this imperial marriage, she gave birth to Empress Fu Shou (伏寿), who became the devoted primary empress of Emperor Xian of Han during the harrowing upheavals in Chang’an and Xuchang. Princess Yang’an enjoyed highest imperial reverence in the late Han court.
