Lady Huang (黄氏, Hoàng thị / Hoàng phu nhân) was an aristocratic noblewoman of the late Eastern Han Dynasty, the principal wife of the imperial palace attendant and minister Huang Kui (黄奎, Hoàng Quỳ), and the daughter-in-law of Grand Commandant Huang Wan (黄琬, Hoàng UYển). She was also the sister of Miao Ze (苗泽, Miêu Trạch), her younger half-brother.
In early 211 AD, Huang Kui joined a secret loyalist conspiracy with the Liangzhou warlord Ma Teng (马腾, Mã Đằng) to assassinate the despotic chancellor Cao Cao during a military review outside Xuchang. Returning home intoxicated, Huang Kui confided the coup details to his treacherous concubine Li Chunxiang (李春香, Lý Xuân Hương). Unknown to Huang Kui, Li Chunxiang was engaged in an incestuous, illicit affair with Lady Huang’s brother Miao Ze. Coveting Li Chunxiang for himself and craving Cao Cao’s bounty, Miao Ze betrayed Huang Kui’s secret plot to Cao Cao. Cao Cao ambushed Ma Teng and instantly arrested Huang Kui’s entire household. Despite being completely innocent and unaware of the conspiracy, Lady Huang was condemned and executed alongside her husband and clan, while the treacherous Miao Ze and Li Chunxiang were subsequently beheaded by Cao Cao for their shameful treason.
