Ji Miao (吉邈, Cát Mạc), courtesy name Wenran, was the eldest son of court physician Ji Ping (Ji Ben / 吉本, Cát Bổn). In the first month of 218 AD, Ji Miao conspired with Geng Ji (耿纪, Cảnh Kỷ), Wei Huang (韦晃, Vi Hoảng), and his brother Ji Mu (吉穆, Cát Mục) to launch an armed uprising in Xuchang, setting fire to the prime minister’s offices to overthrow Cao Cao and restore Emperor Xian.
