Guo Yu (郭豫, Quách Dụ; c. 190s–?), courtesy name Taining (泰宁, Thái Ninh), was an esteemed civil official and scholar of the elite Taiyuan Guo clan of Yangqu. He was the cousin of celebrated supreme commander Guo Huai (郭淮), who famously guarded the western frontier against Zhuge Liang and Jiang Wei.
Renowned for his razor-sharp analytical mind, strategic vision, and incorruptible character, Guo Yu was recruited into the central government of Cao Wei, serving as Military Advisor to Chancellor Hua Xin and later as Gentleman of the Masters of Writing (尚书郎). His strategic recommendations on border logistics and imperial appointments were widely acclaimed in court annals.
