Ge Yong (葛雍, Cát Ủng) is a fictional vanguard officer under the Wei rebel Guanqiu Jian (毌丘俭) in the novel’s account of the Zhuge Dan–Guanqiu Jian uprising against the Sima regency. When Sima Shi personally marches on Xiangcheng (项城), Guanqiu Jian’s officers debate strategy; Ge Yong as vanguard urges holding Nandun (南顿) for its grain and defensible terrain. He is the first to ride out when Deng Ai arrives — and the first to die, cut down in a single pass, symbolizing how quickly Sima Wei’s professional armies crush amateur rebel sorties.

Historically Guanqiu Jian and Wen Qin did rebel in 255 AD; Deng Ai and Sima Shi defeated them. No Ge Yong appears in Sanguozhi or Jin Shu rosters — Luo Guanzhong supplies named victims to pace Deng Ai’s entrance. The novel text uses 葛雍; Diaochan romanizes Cát Ủng. His brief counsel and instant death illustrate a recurring ROTK pattern: rebel armies talk strategy earnestly, then Wei/Jin professionals end debates with a single champion’s blade.

Chapter 110 (Wen Yang’s Single-Handed Battle; Sima Shi Sets Out in Person): At Xiangcheng, Guanqiu Jian hears Sima Shi is coming and councils his officers. Vanguard Ge Yong argues for Nandun: “南顿之地，依阻山冈，粮草足备，不可失也。” When battle joins and Deng Ai leads the Wei van, Guanqiu Jian sends Ge Yong to duel. They exchange not one full bout before Deng Ai “一刀斩之” — one-cut kill — and drives through Guanqiu Jian’s line toward the main camp.
