Xu Kai (徐楷, Từ Giai) was the son and successor of Xu Sheng (徐盛, Từ Thịnh), styled Wenxiang (文向, Văn Hướng), the Wu naval commander famous for building the hundred-li fake wall on the Yangtze that helped deter Cao Pi (曹丕, Tào Phi)‘s invasion fleet in 224 AD. When Xu Sheng died, Xu Kai inherited the Marquisate of Duting (都亭侯) and continued serving in naval commands defending the river approaches to Jianye.
