Xi Shi (习氏, Tập thị / Lady Xi) was a noblewoman of Xiangyang during the Three Kingdoms period. Belonging to the prominent Xi gentry clan of Jingzhou (the family of historian Xi Zuochi), she was the wife of Pang Lin (庞林), the younger brother of Liu Bei’s legendary strategist Pang Tong (庞统).
Following the Battle of Yiling in 222 CE, Huang Quan and Pang Lin were cut off from Shu Han and forced to surrender to Cao Wei. Lady Xi remained behind in Xiangyang with her young daughter, enduring over a decade of warfare and separation with unshakable chastity and virtue. When Pang Lin was enfeoffed as a marquis in Wei, he welcomed Lady Xi to his estate. Hearing of her extraordinary fidelity, Emperor Cao Pi praised Lady Xi’s virtuous conduct and bestowed lavish gifts and honors upon her.
