Biography & Historical Record

Li Peng (李鹏, Lý Bằng) is a fictional Wei officer of Romance Chapter 112, not a Yellow Turban or He Jin man of Chapter 2. Import rows that stamp “Ch.2 / hư cấu” kept the right 汉字 and the right “fictional” flag and the wrong chapter. In “Yu Quan Dies to Save Shouchun; Jiang Wei Fights Hard for the Long Wall,” Shu columns come through Luo Valley and over Shen Ridge toward the Long Wall (长城). Defender Sima Wang (司马望, Tư Mã Vọng), courtesy Zichu (子初, Tử Sơ), rides out twenty li with two generals, Li Peng and Wang Zhen (王真, Vương Chân). Next day Shu arrives. Wang Zhen is taken by Fu Qian (傅佥, Phó Khiêm). Li Peng, furious, gallops with a blade to save him. Fu Qian deliberately slows, dumps Wang Zhen, and has a four-ridge iron mace hidden. When Li Peng raises the cut, Fu Qian twists and drives the mace into his face; the eyes burst; he dies under the horse. The scene exists to show Fu Qian’s cruelty-and-craft and to blood the Long Wall approach for Jiang Wei (姜维, Khương Duy). No Sanguozhi Li Peng stands under Sima Wang.

Role in Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Chapter 112, not Chapter 2: Chapter 2 is Zhang Bao’s magic, Zhu Jun at Wan, Sun Jian’s first fame, and Zhang Fei beating the inspector — no 李鹏. The real entrance is the Long Wall sortie. Sima Wang (司马望, Tư Mã Vọng) lines up Li Peng and Wang Zhen. Fu Qian (傅佥, Phó Khiêm) captures Wang Zhen, baits the rescue, and kills Li Peng (李鹏, Lý Bằng) with a concealed iron mace to the face. That is the whole novel life: one rescue, one trick, one corpse in front of Jiang Wei’s advance.

Key Relationships

Family

  • None recorded in novel or history.

Friends

  • Sima Wang (司马望, Tư Mã Vọng): the Long Wall commander who takes him out of the fortress.
  • Wang Zhen (王真, Vương Chân): fellow general whose capture pulls Li Peng into the kill zone — plain text.

Enemies

Other

  • Chapter 2’s actual casts — Zhang Bao, Zhu Jun, Sun Jian, the inspector Zhang Fei thrashes — are listed only to retire the false chapter stamp.

In Novel

Chapter 112

  • Li Peng (李鹏, Lý Bằng): Fictional Wei general under Sima Wang (司马望, Tư Mã Vọng) at the Long Wall. When Fu Qian (傅佥, Phó Khiêm) captures Wang Zhen (王真, Vương Chân), Li Peng charges to save him. Fu Qian slows, drops the prisoner, and smashes a four-ridge iron mace into Li Peng's face; he dies at once. He does not appear in Chapter 2, which is the Yellow Turban and inspector arc.

In History

Summary

  • No historical Li Peng serves Sima Wang. Jiang Wei's late northern pushes and Sima Wang's western commands are real; this death is Luo Guanzhong.

Year: novel Ganlu era frame

  • The chapter sits in the late-Shu / Cao-Wei border wars after Shouchun. Treat the year as literary, not a Chen Shou date for Li Peng.

Historical Record

  • Silence in the standard histories. Romance Ch.112 is the only source. Ch.2 catalogs are a mis-tag.
