Biography & Historical Record
Lady Fei (费氏, 費氏, Phí thị; ?–264 AD) was a noblewoman and Crown Princess of the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. She was the daughter of Generalissimo and Grand Chancellor Fei Yi (费祎), one of the Four Heroes of Shu (蜀汉四相) who steered the state following the deaths of Zhuge Liang and Jiang Wan.
In 238 AD, following Liu Shan’s decree establishing his eldest son Liu Xuan (刘璿) as Crown Prince, Lady Fei was chosen as Crown Princess (太子妃, Taizi Fei) to cement the matrimonial compact between the imperial Liu clan and the premier civil leadership of Chengdu. Celebrated for her virtue, intelligence, and grace, she presided over the Eastern Palace with high esteem.
During the fall of Shu Han in 263 AD, Liu Shan surrendered to Deng Ai. In early 264 AD, general Zhong Hui rebelled in Chengdu alongside Jiang Wei, triggering a violent mutiny among Wei soldiers. In the ensuing slaughter across the imperial palaces, Crown Prince Liu Xuan and Lady Fei were both tragically killed by rebellious Wei soldiers.
