Jia Fang (贾访, Giả Phỏng) was the younger son of Grand Commandant Jia Xu (贾诩, Giả Hủ), styled Wenhe (文和, Văn Hòa). Jia Xu had served Li Jue, Zhang Xiu, and finally Cao Cao with a reputation for ruthless foresight tempered by self-preservation; when Cao Pi (曹丕, Tào Phi) took the Wei throne in 220 AD, he enfeoffed Jia Fang as a liehou marquis with two hundred tax households — a separate grant from the elder heir Jia Mu (贾穆, Giả Mục), who would inherit the main Shoushi marquisate in 223. The split honored Jia Xu’s decisive counsel on the succession struggle between Cao Pi and Cao Zhi.

Unlike his elder brother, who governed Qiao Commandery as Administrator, Jia Fang’s career is recorded chiefly through this founding enfeoffment. He lived as a distinguished but discreet Wei noble — consistent with the Jia house tradition of avoiding unnecessary exposure at court.

General: Jia Fang does not speak in the novel. His father Jia Xu (贾诩, Giả Hủ) appears from Zhang Xiu’s Jian’an campaigns through Cao Cao’s late reign and the succession intrigues; Jia Fang exists only in Wei historical enfeoffment records.
